Want to do something different this year? Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and it’s usually celebrated as RED. But this year, you can still have a lot of love in the occasion, but celebrate it GREEN instead.
If you have a love that is equally minded as yourself, then he or she will appreciate a move to celebrate on Valentine’s Day, but also conserve or recycle. What do I mean? A Green Valentine’s gift may include a number of choices that support the love of Mother Earth or reuse but express your true love equally as well.
Some lovely gifts might include the traditional flowers-Yes!-but locally and/or organically grown. Or how about taking your sweetie to an organic restaurant for wild salmon or better yet, make a dinner yourself with locally grown organic vegetables and fruits to complement the meal? You may want to top off the evening with a gift of natural perfumes or fragrances or a recycled book,cd, dvd or video game. Again, if your love is of the same mind. . . .
Another awesome and unique gift would be a tree planted in his or her honor. That is not only personally satisfying, but also benefiting the Earth. Oh, and don’t forget a card to go along with the gift. It could also be recycled or an e-mail greeting you creatively send.
Want to try something very romantic? Schedule a camping and/or canoeing trip in the outdoors. Nature is so romantic by itself and taking a trip is both economical and spiritually uplifting for a couple.
Whatever you decide to do on Valentine’s Day in 2011 consider making it a Green Valentine sent straight from the heart to your significant other!
